The Holding Park Falabella Miniature Horse herd was founded in 1985 by Sebastian Fitzmaurice, and since the closure of the Kilverstone Wildlife Park, has become the oldest sole Falabella Miniature Horse establishment in the United Kingdom.

Unlike many other equine establishments, stallions run with their mares and offspring. Sebastian Fitzmaurice believed fervently that nature often knew best and adopted the band system. This ensures that all Falabella Miniature Horses are well socialised, and allows the true equine herd instinct to develop, which we believe is essential to their mental well-being.

Near a 17th Century croft, used as barracks during the British civil war, the miniature parkland is into its seventh year of re-development, with an inspired tree planting scheme based upon traditional parkland themes. A fruit tree lined avenue meanders up to a bridge which spans the canal, joining the two miniature lakes.

It has been due to the influence of our Falabella Miniature Horses over the past two decades that the idea of landscaping with such exquisite animals has occurred. It creates an amazing sight to see them gallop across one of the barrows, which although are only set in three acres, makes one feel like a band of full sized horses are roaming freely nearby.
